WordQ 2
Description: WordQ software is a writing tool used along with standard word processing software. It suggests words for you to use and provides spoken feedback. Users of all ages who have problems writing and editing can benefit.
WordQ software is simple and easy to use. Install it and begin using it immediately with any word processor. Its features have been carefully selected and designed to provide you with the most benefits while ensuring simplicity.
State-of-the-art word prediction suggests words when you have trouble spelling or choosing the right word.
Text-to-speech feedback enhances writing and editing. Letter echo confirms typing a character. Word echo helps you self-identify spelling errors. Word echo also confirms your selection of a predicted word. Sentence echo helps you hear the word flow in a sentence to decide whether the right words and punctuation are used.
A special text-reading mode helps you proofread. With Microsoft Word, WordPad, Notepad, or Outlook, text can be highlighted and spoken word-by-word within that application.
WordQ writing aid software currently supports Canadian, UK and US spelling.
Through the creation of user files, the tool can be tailored to your personal writing needs. To further enhance your writing experience, WordQ software adapts to your writing style and improves its performance as you use it.
Word Prediction
As you type, WordQ continuously predicts what you are typing and presents you with a list of correctly spelled words. When you see the word that you want to use, you can choose it with a single keystroke. You can also display the word with its different word endings. If you need help deciding which word to use, each word can be read aloud to you before you make a selection.
The tool learns and adapts to your writing style as you use it. However, if you wish, you can quickly and easily customize your writing vocabulary by importing text from another file.
Using knowledge about the last word that you wrote, WordQ also attempts to predict the next word in your sentence. An understanding of your vocabulary requirements, and how you typically combine words ensures that the most relevant words are always presented.
Spelling
In addition to your personal vocabulary, the WordQ Dictionary may be referenced for its 60,000 words and powerful knowledge base of how words are used. It also checks for the proper spelling of words as you type. When it encounters unfamiliar words, it makes them available for you to review.

While a large background dictionary spell checks your words, a smaller user vocabulary reflects your personal writing style and continually adapts as you write. The smaller user vocabulary ensures that you are presented with words that you would typically use and understand, thus reducing confusion. A number of initial user vocabularies are included based upon elementary, intermediate, and advanced writing styles. You can further customize the user vocabulary by adding novel words and by importing text files. As you type, novel words and misspelled words are put aside for later review.

Topics
You can also identify groups of words that belong to topics you create such as your favourite sport, the family pet, or general math concepts. When you write about one of your topics, its words will be given a higher priority.

Selecting words
Multiple methods to select predicted words are provided. You can select a word by pressing a corresponding number on the keyboard number line or keypad. When the number line is used, the keypad is used for typing numbers without selecting predictions, and vice versa. Thus, entering numbers is always possible without any intervening actions. The mouse can also be used to directly point at (and hear predicted words) and select with a mouse click. Alternatively, the user can browse the word list by using an arrow key to hear words in the list (down arrow key with a vertical list; down arrow key with a horizontal list), and then select by pressing Enter or a number.
All other actions within WordQ are accessible by both keyboard and the mouse. Four definable hotkeys are provided for commonly used functions that are also provided on the main WordQ button bar: hide/show predicted word list; speech on/off; read text; and select topic. All customizations of WordQ are done on a series of tabbed dialog boxes accessible by both keyboard and mouse.
Text-to-speech
To help you with your writing and editing, you can have letters, words, and sentences spoken as you type. This helps you confirm that you have selected the correct character, word, or combination of words and punctuation. When a word is unknown or believed to be incorrectly spelled, it is spoken out letter-by-letter.
A special reading mode allows you to proofread your text. When Microsoft Word, Outlook, WordPad, or Notepad is used, your text is highlighted and read word-by-word within the application. If you prefer to proofread at your own pace, you have the option to read a word or a sentence at a time. Web browsers and non-standard writing applications provide the reading capabilities without highlighting word-by-word.
Some applications will further allow Window items such as menus, lists, icons and buttons to be spoken as you use them.
